Mount Rainier National Park, WA

Transition to Paradise

4 / 6
After our big Burroughs day, we had two quieter days at Rainier. On the first, we went back to the Sunrise Visitor Center since it had been closed by the time we finished hiking the day before. Then we took chill time back out our White River campsite.
The next day, we made the move to the other side of the park, still without a campsite lined up. Before doing anything else, though, we headed to Packwood to use the only dump station for many miles. There were campgrounds scattered around the area, but none of them had dump stations except here. Once that bit of RV business was handled, we managed to score a first come, first served site at La Wis Wis Campground.

We were ready to trade the ridgeline views of Sunrise for the lush meadows and waterfalls of the Paradise side of Mount Rainier National Park.
