About Us

Cathedral Rock

We’re Carla and Danny.

We both work in IT. We’ve spent our entire adult lives building careers and keeping up with responsibilities. We have a home we love in the suburbs of Atlanta, a front yard vegetable garden, chickens, and the kind of routine that’s easy to settle into.

But we’ve always loved to travel, explore, and get outside. Hiking, seeing new places, and having fun adventures have always been part of who we are.

We took a leap and stepped away from our IT jobs to take a seven-month RV trip across the country, at a time when the job market wasn’t exactly forgiving. It meant putting our normal lives on hold, leaving behind a lot of comfort, and taking on a fair amount of uncertainty.

Danny is the one who made sure everything actually worked along the way. He’s incredibly handy, kept the RV running, handled electrical issues, and somehow managed to cook real meals no matter where we were. If something broke, he fixed it. If something needed figuring out, he handled it.

I’m the planner.

I map things out ahead of time and make sure we’re in the right place at the right time. Especially for a trip like this, where timing, weather, and logistics can make or break the experience, I leaned all the way into it.

That difference could have pulled things apart.

Instead, it’s what made the trip work.

Danny was ready to go wherever the road led. I made sure we didn’t miss the places that needed a little more intention.

Somewhere between winging it and planning everything, we found a balance that let us actually experience the trip, not just move through it.

And for something this big, we wanted to remember it. Not just the highlights, but the full experience of what it took to do it.
