Del Rio was mostly a practical stopover for us, with a quiet pass through Uvalde on the way in. Amistad National Recreation Area brings a striking burst of blue water to an otherwise dry landscape, while Seminole Canyon State Park delivers the real payoff with ancient rock art and a sense of deep time. Not a destination on its own, but worth the detour if you’re passing through.
